About Me

I'm Siddhanth Girish, a 20-year-old Mrudangam artiste based in Melbourne. My journey with this divine percussion instrument began at the age of 6 under the guidance of Shri Sridhar Chari(disciple of Dr. Umayalpuram K Sivaraman), who first inspired my love for rhythm and tradition. After my family moved to India in 2013, I was fortunate to continue my training under none other than Padma Vibhushan awardee, Sangeeta Kalanidhi Dr. Umayalpuram K Sivaraman, with whom I’ve been learning for nearly 13 years and continue my intensive training.

On 16 February 2025, my revered guru Dr. Umayalpuram K Sivaraman arranged my mrudangam arangetram at Chennai, where my first guru was present on this occasion. I consider this as a great moment in my artistic career.

With extensive concert training and continued mentorship from my current guru, I hope to make a name in the realm of carnatic music. For me to achieve this, I pray to Almighty and my gurus to crown my endeavors with success.

Alongside my musical pursuits, I am currently in my third year of a dual degree at Monash University, undertaking a Bachelor of Laws (Honours) and Bachelor of Commerce.
